How Many ml Should a Newborn Drink Chart

Estimating the amount of milk a newborn baby should drink can be difficult, but we have compiled the following chart to serve as a guide. It is important to remember that each baby is unique and the amounts listed below may not be the exact amount for your baby.

Age 0-1 Week:

  • Amount: 2-4 oz (60-120 ml)
  • Frequency: 8-12 feedings/24 hours

Age 1-4 Weeks:

  • Amount: 3-4 oz (90-120 ml)
  • Frequency: 6-7 feedings/24 hours

Age 1-2 Months:

  • Amount: 4-5 oz (120-150 ml)
  • Frequency: 5-6 feedings/24 hours

Age 2-4 Months:

  • Amount: 4-6 oz (120-180 ml)
  • Frequency: 4-5 feedings/24 hours

Age 4-8 Months:

  • Amount: 4-8 oz (120-240 ml)
  • Frequency: 4-5 feedings/24 hours

Age 8-12 Months:

  • Amount: 6-9 oz (180-270 ml)
